Magical Lily

Magical Lily 2023

This is a beautiful pastel that was started at the Giverny site where Money painted water lilies. It was an humbling experience to paint there, and gave me a profound appreciation of the grand master Monet, and his mastery, dedication, passion for the subject. I loved how this pastel has an ethereal feel to it, with reflections of cloud in the lily pond. It creates a light feeling of floating away without any care into the clouds. The Waterlilies series was inspired by an impromptu visit to Giverny.
