Lines and layers make this beautiful spring glory of Hydrangeas come alive. Bold strokes is the hallmark of this pastel painting done in plein air in the artist's own garden. These complex flowers took me so many tries over so many days to get right. Flower was challenging me to find its essence in a simpler form. I hope you enjoy as much as I have my explorations.
